Albanian weightlifter Enkileda Carja crowned Europe’s 2025 rising star

Albanian weightlifting sensation Enkileda Carja was crowned Europe’s Rising Star 2025 at the European Championships in Batumi.

This award perfectly caps a phenomenal 2025 for Carja, who dominated the international stage with medals at the World, European, and Balkan Championships, alongside the Solidarity Games.

Astrit Hasani, President of the European Weightlifting Federation, presented the award while commending the Albanian athlete’s outstanding international performance and promise.

Carja’s success is the result of hard work over the years, in close collaboration with coach Eglantina Kalemi, as well as the constant support from the Weightlifting Federation and the Albanian National Olympic Committee.

Braho, official visit to the U.S. Department of Justice

TIRANA, April 20 /ATA/ The Chief Prosecutor of the Special Prosecution Office Against Organized Crime and Corruption (SPAK), Klodian Braho, accompanied by a delegation of prosecutors, conducted an official visit to the United States Department of Justice.

In a social media post, the Criminal Division of the U.S. Department of Justice announced that the meeting was held to strengthen the partnership against organized crime and corruption.

“Assistant Attorney General A. Tysen Duva and OPDAT welcomed prosecutors and investigators from SPAK in Albania to greet the new leadership and to strengthen our partnership in the critical fight against organized crime and transnational corruption,” the statement read.
